Our master bedroom is getting a little update *yay*. The other day I shared a sneak peek of our master bedroom and I got sooo many questions about the pieces I showed. Today I’m sharing everything we will be putting in the space. I can’t wait to get it all put together. Our new light fixture was just delivered and will be hung this week–it’s GORGEOUS!!! We are still waiting for the bed and dresser to be delivered. So stay tuned for the full reveal.
I’ve been wanted to change up our master bedroom for a while now and finally decided it’s time. Over the last couple years we’ve completed renovated our home. The majority of our house is light and bright–which I love. But our bedroom furniture (we bought for our last house) is very dark and doesn’t really fit the vibe in our current home. We will be moving our furniture set into our spare bedroom. I am so excited for the new space so enjoy a little sneak peek while we put it all together.

A few weeks ago I cut off all of my hair–I can’t believe how short it is. Honestly, it was much needed! My hair looks & feels so much healthier. Plus, it’s been so much fun playing with new hairstyles. Today I wanted to share a quick Youtube tutorial sharing how I’ve been curling it lately. This hairstyle is super easy to achieve and takes less than 10 minutes. All of the products I will be using are available at Nordstrom.
I’ve been using my T3 Micro wand from Nordstrom for a few years now. It’s amazing–the curls literally last for days. I only used a few hair products to achieve this look–dry conditioner, texturing spray, smoothing oil, & a brush. I like to keep it simple.

I don’t know about you, but I LIVE in cut-offs during the hot summer months. Today I wanted to share some amazing denim shorts I found at Emmer & Oat ALL UNDER $50!! HOW TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS & REWARD YOURSELF ALONG THE WAY
Walking into the new year I set some big goals for myself. Some I’ve already accomplished, which feels amazing btw, but there’s a list of others I haven’t even started yet. Today I wanted to get a little more personal and talk about how to achieve our goals, feel good about our accomplishments, and rewarding yourself along the way. Since I started blogging full-time, I’ve found myself struggling with my purpose and not feeling accomplished. Working for yourself is incredible but it’s also really hard. No one tells you what to do or when to do it–it’s all on you. I’ve personally struggled with this but have found that setting goals and rewarding myself along the way makes a huge difference. Setting goals and reaching them has given me a huge sense of accomplishment and gives me the drive I need to keep going. Committing to myself and my goals has made such a difference.
First, let’s talk about our goals, I think it’s safe to say, big or small, everyone has a goal or a dream, and it’s never to late to start working towards it. Wether you’ve written them down and are taking action to accomplish them, or maybe you just consider them “dreams” and don’t have a real plan or idea to get to your end goal. Sometime it’s hard to see how far we’ve come, especially if we aren’t working towards a specific goal.
So where do we start? Make a list! I make lists for everything. There’s something about physically writing things down that makes them a little more memorable and real. Start by making a list from 1-12. I usually do this around new years and do one line foreach month so maybe start with 5-May. Now we’re going to start from the bottom up. Line 12 should have your end goals. List them out…I usually make two lists–one personal & one professional. Writing your goals down will help give you a sense of purpose.
Make sales goal, loose 10 lbs, save x amount of money, travel to Europe, pay off car…
Once you have them all written down, break each big goal down to a monthly goal. Let’s say you want to save $4,000 this year (for easy math) divide that by the number of months you’ll be working towards it. Starting now, each month you’ll have to save $500. Now break it down even further, each week you’ll need to put away about $115, which is about $16 a day. When you break it down it doesn’t seem as scary. Breaking your goals down into bite size pieces makes them much more attainable. You can do this with anything–I promise! Once you start working towards your goal, you’ll start to feel a sense of accomplishment. It’s the best feeling, and for me it creates a snowball effect of positive momentum. As you start achieving your goals you build up momentum and start to create new ones because you know you can accomplish them. This also helps give a sense of purpose and feels great along the way.
Now that you’re chunking away at your goals, it’s time to keep the positivity flowing. When you’re working towards something for months, you can easily loose sight of the end goal or get discouraged along the way. That’s why the monthly breakdown is so helpful. Looking back at each month you can see how far you’ve come and what you’re working towards. Rewarding yourself along the way can help encourage you to keep going and to be proud of what you’ve accomplished so far.
Rewarding yourself can be something as simple as going out to dinner to celebrate, buying a new pair of earrings, or maybe just a relaxing day at the spa. When you reach your end goal go big. Throw a party with your friends & family so they can celebrate your accomplishment with you. Buy yourself a classic piece of Simon G.
